Feeding
We know it can be fun and fasinating to watch your hamster eat new and diffrent treats but not everything you feed is good for them or there stomach .do not feed your hamster food made for humans as its not normally good for them .stickey food can get stuck in there pouches and will need forceps to remove it most likely .it can also upset there stomach causing consitpation or the opposite .aviod nut and seed mixes sold for birds .
most dry food provides most of your hamster diet ,other items can be included like green vegatables (must be removed within 12 hours or when they started to harden or go mouldey)which can be a source of vitamins as well as fibre but dont over feed the greens as again it can cause consitpation and diahorrea ,finding greens can be good during hamster breeding times .
you can also feed your hamster wild plants such as dandelion which can be a valueable such of calcuim ,provided you know that they have not been in contact with any chemical sparys (eg road sides ) and also were dogs or cats my have urinated.
things your hamster can eat in moderation :
carrots
apple
cumcumber
apples
bananas
cauliflower
celery
cottage cheese
eggs(hard boiled)
grapes
lettuce
pasta
peanuts
raisins
rice (boiled )

your hamster should eat a tablespoon of food a day ,because hamster dont sit down to eat and dont over eat you can leave a bowl full of food in there cage to nibble on during the day and night .most hamsters need 12-15% of protein and 3-6 % fat but nursing females may and will need more .make sure you give your hamster fresh cold water each day and clean out there bottle once a week .
