Hamster belong to the Rodent group of mammals .like all mammals they are warm blooded and have furry skin .female hamsters give birth to live young and feed them on their own milk .Rodents make up over 50% of all species of mammals . they are named after the Latin word Rodere, meaning gnaw . they have one pair of upper incisor teeth and one lower pair of lower incisors teeth at the front of there mouth .these grow all the time and wear against each other as they eat food .
